HH Day #12 - Frenchie & Flea

>> Thursday, December 3, 2009

We hope you enjoyed our 12 Days of Handmade Holidays.....
For our final day we're staying close to home with a little Etsy shop you may have heard of...

Here's something you need to know about us...
we are actually sisters from separate mothers.
We met 8 years ago and haven't stopped creating since.
This F&F adventure was bound to happen and it's a dream in the making!
So, more about us?

1. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
emily: Family Tahoe Trips. Stockings - hands down my favorite. Anything/Everything my dad cooks. Baking and decorating the table with my mom and sisters. Family family family! And I LOOOOOVE gifting...holiday shopping for just the right gift for each family member and friend is the biggest joy for me!
allegra: I have a lot but I'll keep it short} Advent. Christmas Stockings. Fancy Christmas Dinner. My Cousins. Grandpa's crazy socks with bells. The "Candy Cane Tree." Family. I am a sucker for tradition and am stumped as how to make my son's Christmas' as special as mine have always been!

2. Why is it important to you to support handmade?
Handmade means unique, creative, and self-sufficient. these are characteristics that need to be encouraged which is why this Christmas, we're making the pledge to support local mom & pop shops (in our neighborhoods) and handmade/ vintage shops on Etsy.

{Burlap Scrabble Banner ~ $17.50}

3. What's your favorite shop item, and why would it be the perfect holiday gift?
emily: I am mildly obsessed with the gift tags. I heart anything houndstooth or leopard and think they are SUPER fun and festive without being too "holiday-ish".
allegra: I am in L-O-V-E with our Christmas cards. I want to spread them with PB&J and eat them up!

4. Three words that describe you/your shop & goods.
fun. one-of-a-kind. colorful.

I WANT the Cowboy Stationary...except without the name "Annie" on it...of course, it could be ANNIE GET YOUR GUN? (you know, the Broadway Musical, all right-I'm dating myself)
NOW... if you can make some stationary with an ENGLISH BULLDOG??? :)
