Our 200th Post and a Year in Review...

>> Wednesday, January 6, 2010

So this is a big post. And by big, I honestly mean that I never imagined our blog and business would be HERE today!

{image by Cameron Ingalls}

The past 199 posts have been filled with love, creativity, thoughtfulness, blessings, occasions, and eye candy galore! As we have reached this monumental post, our hopes for our blog have grown and new goals have been set...we will continue to share the things we love and do, DIY tips, entertaining and wedding ideas, shops and blogs and businesses we adore, and we will constantly work to INSPIRE our readers.

With the New Year and the new website launch and today's 200th post, I got to thinking about all the inspiration Allegra and I have discovered and all the ideas we have made realities and what our hopes and goals for F&F in 2010 are...

This year, I want to live fearlessly with our business. I want to make strides towards accomplishing the dreams we have been dreaming! Whether we are featuring fabulous crafters, promoting the growth of businesses we love and trust, designing events that are inspired by the PEOPLE they are celebrating, or styling alongside talented photographers, I hope to continue to push ourselves creatively every day.

I believe the thing that sets F&F apart is our ability to hone in on the IMPORTANT details and edit the rest. With several weddings under our belt, a slew of baby showers and parties and holiday events hosted, and some serious photo-styling to boot, we have discovered over and over again that we love celebrating people. We adore DIY projects and infusing character into the events we design by re purposing found objects and crafting up a storm. We love to help market and brand businesses, inspired artists and creatives with fabulous design. We REALLY love helping other people reach their creative goals and achieve success in their event, blog, shop, or business. These are the things that will continue to motivate us and we are so excited to keep sharing them with YOU!
Cheers to our 200th post and all the creativity in store for 2010!

We are offering the same services from 2009
(you know, Wedding Invitations, Save The Dates, Note Cards, Graphic Design, Product Photography...)
AND

Our blog will continue to be here :) we just have another place in space for our portfolio!

We'd like to give a special thanks to Christan Parreira who navigated the technical side to getting this website functioning.
This would not have happened without him!

Finally, we wouldn't be starting 2010 on the right foot if we didn't send out a HUGE THANKS to all our readers, supporters, clients, family & friends! 2009 was a fabulous year...and F&F wouldn't be here if it weren't for all of YOU! We are so blessed...thank you!

F&F Announces Styling/Photography Service!

>> Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Frenchie & Flea now offers product styling and photography for YOUR shop/blog/website!

Allegra is a VERY talented photographer (she shoots all our products and has also styled and shot for other Etsy shops and blogs like Coastline and Untamed Petals!) and has the most creative eye for styling! We know that marketing and packaging are the key to selling success and that shoppers are drawn to images that stand out against all others.
Image is EVERYTHING! You could be selling the most amazing product ever, but if the photo is low quality, has bad lighting, or isn't edited to highlight the item at its best, chances are a potential buyer will skip right over it! Don't let this happen to you! Check out our Etsy listing for your one stop shop styling/editing/shooting listing and let your product SHINE!

Here is just a small sampling of Allegra's photography work....she has an eye for color and texture and capturing the essence of each item in every shot!
Enjoy...

How To Get What You Really Want

>> Friday, May 1, 2009

How do you get what you have as your vision to come into reality?
Here are some tips!

I missed the boat for birth announcements and was sincerely discouraged.
Thankfully, I thought of an alternative.
This was my vision for my son's 1st Birthday Announcement.
birth announcement1. Figure out what you know you want
I knew I wanted:
-3 Photos: Birth, 6 Months, and 1 Year.
-Green & Brown as the Colors

2. Find things that fit your vision that you can share with a designer.
For me, it went back to my son's bedding that I love.

birth announcement3. Be able to describe why those things fit your vision.
My son's bedding was non-traditional, unique, modern, and didn't scream "baby."

4. Feel comfortable communicating with your custom designer. It's their job to meet your needs!
What I love about working with Emily is that she loves the editing & revision process!
It was FUN to work with her and be her client. She wanted to make sure I got exactly what I wanted
because she knew that these announcements were a big deal to me.

We hope this helps you when you're working on your next custom design!
